The issue comes down to the same one as you're talking about above "What *do* you say?" - IRL my experience has been that, from my perspective, I'm always making the effort and getting no meaningful feedback. There's no objective reality behind the cute words. Here on the board I get great feedback - but it is constrained by the circumstances. Let me clarify - I don't really doubt the sincerity of what Chris is saying; what I find hard is that these are the same words as I have heard IRL from others whose depth of commitment has proved to be shallow. Frequently bitten, now discouraged..... That I've shared this pain here is in itself a reflection of something positive occurring as a result of your and others' efforts with me. So I guess that there is more real love going on than I've recognised :-) But it's still a slog out IRL. Does that make more sense? And thanks for listening...... |
