Hi Ford, Oh man do I dig what you just wrote!!! It is exactly right, my friend. Both brothers actually felt condemned (although thier father NEVER condemned either of them). One reacted by going off to drink and party down, while the other tried like crazy to be a "good" son and be seen as obediant. Neither son was right in his actions. You know, most people can see the faulty thinking of the younger son, but most never get why the older one was wrong too. Both sons were wrong, because they believed they had to, somehow, earn thier father's love. Just like so many Christians believe today. And don't we go through SO much needless pain in the process of learning otherwise?! God bless you, Ford! I really got a lot out of this one! Love in Christ Jesus, Chris |
