Hi Jake, I would like to address one of your questions (because I think most of the others have been answered quite nicely by my friends Bonzo, Ford, Forgiven and Ray...but also because after answering all of Heather's questions, I'm a little "questioned out" right now...). The question I would like to take a look at is: "Why would people worship satan and have a horrible time when God is supposed to be fun and all happy?" I guess the first thing that "jumps out at me" with this, is the idea that God is supposed to be fun and all happy. I can tell you through my own experiences, that this is simply not so. In the life of a Christian, who is following God's will for him or her, even Jesus said "you will have trouble." John 16:33 However, it DOES go on to say,"But take heart, I have overcome the world." The life of a Christian is about Joy! When God lives within you, you will begin to experience joy in your life, regardless of whether or not you are having fun, or not having fun; happy, or not happy. Joy is an inner state of being that goes beyond fun or happiness. Now I'm not saying that the Christian has no fun times, or happy times....we do!!! But, what I am saying is that, becoming a Christian does not exclude trials in life, or unhappiness. In fact, a Christian will experience possably MORE trials in life than the non-Christian, because we need this in order to grow. This, I think, may be at least one reason why folks would turn to satanism. Out of fear of God, fear of trials, or just plain fear out of ignornce of the real truth of God, our Father.
