Is it true that if you don't get baptized before you die you go to hell? Im sure its not true but I should check to make sure. You've been mixing with Mormons too long.:-) This is one of their beliefs, which leads to their 'baptism of the dead', but lacks a decent biblical foundation. The easy answer lies in the fact that both Elijah and Enoch are recorded as going to heaven without being baptised - and there is also the example of the penitent thief who is assured of salvation without being baptised. The core answer lies in the fact that we are saved by faith - our trust in God - not by outward signs - though these have some significance that we are unwise to reject; if God tells us to do something, do it!! What does 666 mean and 777. I don't under stand is it the number of pages in the bible and unholy bible? 666 - or alternatively 616 - some versions of the Greek - is 'the sign of the devil' in the book of revelation. Quite what it's significance is unclear - some people see it as a code for Nero, a nasty Roman emperor of the time - but the truth is we don't know. My own belief is that it will be fairly obvious when we need to know and too much speculation on these issues now is a mistake; on the other hand many Christians make the opposite mistake and totally ignore the whole subject - equally unwise!!
