Hi Jake,

First of all I want to welcome you here, since I haven’t done that yet.
I’m zip and I’m 20. How old did you say you where again?

You don’t really have to apologise for not answering all the reply’s... but, I think most people would appreciate if you’d acknowledge the work they’ve put into their reply and their friendliness. Replying to the people who have replied to you does make a lot of difference if you want to become friendly with people. What would pleasure me most would be to see that you keep posting here from time to time.... but that’s all up to you off course.

So, you think this friend wants to practice his judo on you or what? Sounds weird to me... Only 2 options I guess: kick him first or runnnnn... (I dunno, but I think I’d go with number 2).

I’ll try and give some quick answers to your questions. With this I risk saying stupid things, ‘cause your questions aren’t all that easy and straightforward (but that’s good). So, I’m just going to run over the list and say what I think, (maybe answers, maybe just random thoughts) hoping that some of my thoughts might make sense to you.

"Why would people worship Satan is they knew god was so fun."
Lots of people are looking for answers to deep questions, like what is the meaning of life and all... I guess that different people decide different things. Not everyone I’ve talken to believe God is fun. Some think that God is just a big bully. Why choose for Satan then? Maybe because that way you don’t have to choose for God. It astounds me to what lengths a lot of anti-christians will go, just so they can avoid surrendering to God. Satanism might even seem pretty tempting in this life. There lives might even be fun, as long as it lasts. But that’s just the point: as long as it lasts. Being a christian is no guarantee that this life will be all fun and laughter, often far from it (just take Paul’s example: shipwrecked, flogged, beaten and despised).

Doesn’t the catholic church use the real bible (not the rewritten one)?
Since they have abandoned their Latin texts a while ago, I think their Bible is just a translation, like the Protestants and the evangelicals (or whatever...). The only standard difference I know off is that they have some extra books in the Bible, which aren’t acknowledged in most other denominations. I personally believe tht does books don’t belong in the Bible, but that doesn’t mean the rest is badly translated.

On the inverted cross.
The main problem here is that the cross has become a very powerful symbol which people feel very strongly about. Basically, there’s nothing wrong with a cross being inverted (when one of the disciples was executed, he demanded that the cross would be turned upside down, because he didn’t deem himself worthy to die in the same manner as his Lord). The problem comes from the fact that people use the inverted cross as a an anti-christian symbol. They use it to ridicule Christ’s execution. That’s why people will be offended when they see you using it. Off course it’s wrong for people to assume that it means that you use it with that intention, but regardless of that, people will be hurt and offended by it. Personally I try to leave things be if I know that it will only cause problems. What’s the use? Do you find it so aesthetically pleasing that it’s worth all that trouble and crap?

About selling your soul to save someone else.
I think this women has been very honest and realistic with her answer. I have thought about this in the past and courageously thought that if I had the choice I’d sacrifice my heaven, if I could save a couple of people I love (especially certain kids). But to be honest: that’s utter crap. To begin with, it’s pure fiction. You can’t trade in your place in heaven for someone’s place in hell, it just doesn’t work that way. Choosing for God is a personal decision. No one else shares your responsibility in this choice and you can’t help anyone out. Everyone has the same personal choice. Secondly I doubt I would be able to change my mind if I would have had a glimpse of heaven and hell. I don’t think anyone would be heroic enough to give a sacrifice like that. It’s not that you wouldn’t want to, you just wouldn’t physically be able to. Really, only time would tell, but again, it’s only fantasy and wishful thinking.

Is it true that if you don't get baptised before you die you go to hell?
No it isn’t. To be saved, you have to acknowledge that Christ is the son of God and has died on the cross for our sins and be willing to accept His sacrifice and repent for your sins. However, being baptised is a logical follow up of becoming a christian. With this you show to the people surounding you that you have become a Christian.

What does 666 mean and 777?
In the book of Revelations, it is said that when the antichrist comes, he will be identifiable by this number. In the ancient languages (Hebrew, Greek) numbers aren’t written with numerical signs, but with letters of the alphabet. Therefore, this number might be the numerical equivalent of a word or a name. Like Forgiven said, it isn’t something one should be concerned about at the moment. When the time will come, it will probably be self explanatory. The number 777 doesn’t have any significant meaning, as far as I know off.

About when the end of the world will come.
Mark 13:32,33 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.”
This verse clearly states that no one knows when Christ will return. That why I think it’s foolish to make predictions. Especially predictions like on the year 2000. Why then? Do they God is bound by or time schedule? That’s so stupid... Why do people make these predictions? I think mainly because can’t stand the idea of not knowing. People today are also lead to believe that we can figure everything out, which is so arrogant. No one has a clue when God will come back, so we can better live life, assuming it could happen any moment.

Why do like christians crack on Catholics, Mormons, and Jews, ect. and vice versa. why do they do that to each other?
Because christians are humans and for some or other reason we seem to have this urge in us to belittle other human beings, preferably clearly identifiable groups (Moslems, Jews, Mormons, blacks, homosexuals, lawyers, boylovers...). It is wrong and stupid to do stuff like this (but I know I’m guilty in this too...). To disagree with what they say and stand for is one thing, but to pick on them is a whole different issue.

Why do people think the bible is 100% correct?
Ouch... why did ya have to leave the toughest one for last? I thought I was almost finished... sigh.
I think the Bible is more than some storybook, just reading in it makes that perfectly clear to me. I believe that the actual writers of the individual books where inspired by God (God guided them in there writing). The Bible that we read these days has obviously been translated an number of times (than God, otherwise I’d have to go and learn Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic). It would seem slightly odd to me that God would take the trouble to inspire the original writers to write the Bible and then neglect to take care of the follow up. I trust that God has the power and the will to make sure that what we know as the Bible is sufficiently correct to guide us trough life.

I really don’t know if my thoughts/answers will be any use to you, but I did enjoy going trough your questions anyways...

LoLove (Lots of Love),
