Hi Andy, Thank you, brother, that was classic! Indeed, untill a person is "in Christ", he cannot make much sense of the Bible. We are all created in God's image, which is spiritual or spirit, but until we become one with Him, or His Spirit, we cannot see the real truths of His word, which is also spiritual. It won't make much sense. First a person must recieve God's Spirit and become one with Him, then God's words will make sense...maybe not all at once, but as He reviels thetruth in them to him.
