You ask the question, how could someone love a boy so much that he would say to him, "I will never leave you..." But rememeber Jesus is the personification of Love! He loved ALL people as much as that boy. If you were to "corrupt" the boy, he would end up a corrupt man. And thus making the whole circle start over again where the corrupt man would corrupt another. I hope this makes some sense.
