Good day all. During mass this morning I had an insight into my original question "why are ministers of the sacred having sexual relations with boys?" (I am not a priest, for once, just a young devout Catholic)
I came to this conclusion, and tell me if I am simply living in "wish fullfillment" or if I could make a case for this.
In todays reading (Mt. 19 1-12) Jesus is going off about divorce and and then one of his less than brilliant disciples says "geez, should we just not marry?" And Jesus says "Not all mean can accept the idea that you cannot marry," and then he goes on "some men are born eunchs, some taught, and some becaome eunchs for the kingdom of heaven." Now a eunch in Jesus's era was one who would guard the harem of women, who usually had his testiles removed so as not to impreganate any of the women he guarded, and you can guess where classists assume they "got their rocks off," yes with boys! Thus we have a Jesus comparing chosen ones as "eunchs" which means not sex with women, but yet they often partake of sex with boys. Jesus being the good Jewish boy would have known this and yet he goes on in the next neatly juxtaposed paragraph to "recieve the children." In it it has Jesus saying "let the children come to me, do not get in their way from comming to me because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as them." I mean, my God, does Jesus need to spell it out for us. As boylovers we have accpeted this. Thus we see that the closer one gets to the sacred the more they become admirable of boys. Why? Because the boy especially the prepubescent boy, is what one may call pure-consciousness. Meaning he acts on the purity of his being, he does not reflect and conform to societal mores, or peer pressure, he instead IS. This usually lasts until about 12 or so when the middle school affects begin to take affect and the boy learns that he has a reflective faculty in his head and uses it and thus eliminating the purity which shows God. Jesus so often compares heaven to children, and himself is recieving children right after he says how eunchism is a superior ideal reserved for some. Earlier in the passage Jesus refers to the marraige as "In the beginning it was not this way." Meaning the original attachment of man not to the woman, or marriage, but instead to another. Not a sexlessness, or a overzelous celibate life, for in the very next passage Jesus is recieveing the boys into his arms telling his rude folowers to not stop them.
This brings up another point. Jesus, comparing children as a living imagery in action to the kingdom of heaven showing that children, and especially boys, are more likely to bring out the self of purity than girls. Girls have the function of self recognition at a very early age and know and are inhibited through peer pressure much earlier, in which it does not affect the boy until usually 11-13. So from 5-12 the boy is usually that of the purest of human. It is when the developments of manhood and adulthood devleop but yet the pure-consciousness, instinct, or true nature are still in affect. And so when we see the boy we are seeing the one last living image of God. Not to say the boy is God, but the the absloute image of the realm in which God dwells. After Jesus recieved the boys he "lays his hands on them and then departs." I am not going to try and theorize on what this means, we can decide that for ourselves.
You see how reading the Bible can help your daily life, you can realize that Jesus was a boylover! I am still waiting for us to uncover some ancient gospel in the Isreali desert that is notified by Jesus himself that says "and often Jesus would lie with boys, as he entered into the expression by which man can, at least for a moment, can enter into union with God." Could you imagine if they found something like that? I believe that God is being held in abiance by our sensless lack of respect for the boy and the mystereies which he holds. We have made boys become no more than mindless drones which other than discover their sexuality, and agression, really do little lese in the way of examining life. It has been said that "the modern day boyhood is no more than a period of mindless waiting for getting a job after college." We no longer allow our boys to think, instead we sit them down at a video game, or with a namebrand and pat ourselves on the back and say "we are good parents, are boys don't swear and no one is abusing them." This is wrong, there is so much that can be accessed from within the boy. Look at Socrates, he used to walk around with boys and young men asking them such questions as "what is virtue, what is the good, can we ever truly know?" and so on. Boys used to actually think and offer Socrates what brilliance lied within themselves. Now your lucky if a boy has ever heard of Socrates, or philosophy. We have to help boys to think again. We have all these shrinks running around saying " oh the problem with boys is......" but thats not the problem. The problem with boys is that we have told them they do not need to think, and don't bother trying to help them think or you may be called a pedophile. We as Boylovers, and Christians owe it to our little brothers to save them from that which hurts them. What is it that hurts them? That they are not asked to think, they are simply asked to be that unexamined pure-consciousness, whereas instead when we see the boy we should be seeing the truest form of inner-self that exists whereas the boy has the awareness that he is more than a mindless corporate advertisment, but instead has a brain. The boy holds the key to unlocking the mysteries of the spiritual, to be like the completly unattached pure spiritual image of the Ultimate.
Enough wishful thinking for one day.
I encourage you all to read Mt. 19 1-15 and see if it is plausible.
God Speed
David
