Ranging from one guy for whom my reaction was overwhelming sexually oriented - at 25 the oldest I've ever taken to seriously - through to my present YF where there is a almost nothing. But the isssue is what you do about it - and what you signal in it all. Boys do sometimes pick up your "Real" motives. In some cases they react to it - in various ways; in others it is never mentioned. There was a fascinating case of God's provision for me when I was growing close to a 16 year old strong Christian. This was raising some doubts in certain minds - but totally spontaneously the subject of Homosexuality came up and he expressed his clear opposition. For me this was God's intervention to bless a relationship that has continued gently - he's now mid 20s and married - but he was kind enough to describe me as his mentor as a result of the time we spent together. But the underlying question is what we are to make of Jesus' words about looking at a women being as bad as adultery. We ignore them at our peril - but what DO they mean in practice? Someone else's turn to take the floor!! |
