Hi Ken! Welcome back to CBF. It was almost a year and a half ago that I came out to my pastor. I can't remember how much you knew about that back when you were on CBF and we emailed each other. Anyway, it has turned out to be a very good decision. He is very supportive and understanding, and it has been good to have someone in real life to talk to when I have something on my mind. He has trusted me completely with children in the congregation, and recommended me to volunteer as a counselor at church camp. He has also met a few of my BLer friends. The thing that really helped with him is that he is a very unconventional person. I have also come out as a BLer to six people in a church-related pro-gay organization, although I don't see them very often and consider them part of my "secret" life, unlike my pastor. I have not come out to anyone else. I would be very much interested in you writing an article for "Paraklesis" about your coming out experiences. BTW, I wanted to comment on your explanation of why you're a BLer. (1) I wonder if you're really that much more sexual than usual. Don't lots of people think about sex when their minds wander? And don't lots of people act on it much more than you do? I don't think BLers' sexual feelings are any more intense than straight peoples'. (2) Same here. (3) I'm not insecure relating with adults; in fact in many ways I'm more secure than with adolescents or children because when I'm with the latter I'm often worried that someone's going to think I'm giving them too much attention.
