OK - so our motives are mixed. Like other people's aren't? My own experience is that the more I know a boy, particularly ones that are just about adults, the less the sexual component of the relationship is important. This kicks in even more when I begin to share at a spiritual level with them - serious lust has never survived a time of private prayer with one. It's far more of a problem with non Christians - especially if a physical component develops with them... But the reality is that the sexual magic does add an energy to the relationship that can help it develop positively - especially if I learn to turn the thought of temptation to an opportunity for prayer for the person.... But yes it's hard work - but who promised us an easy life - it wasn't our Lord Jesus! Incidentally it's nice to see someone else here with an AoA extending into the 'legal' range - most everyone else seems to be below that. Hope you stick around. |
