*** That part about a generation of boylovers. If there was a corrilation between No male rolemodels and boylover, shouldn't there be millions of boylovers out there right now? *** Hey asb! I think the gist of the argument was *commonalities* among boylovers and not *causes* of boylovers; though, I may have been unclear in my posts and confused even myself. :) However, it does appear strange, at first glance, that a large amount of boylovers (from what I can tell), and homosexuals for that matter, spent an important part of their childhood outside the presence a strong male role model. But now that you mention it, most boys *are* growing up today in homes where the father is absent -- so this commonality among boylovers does not appear to be such a strange thing anymore since it is also a commonality among most "normal" young men today (born 70s-90s). Also, in American culture, families are very small, meaning that there is a lack of other supportive family members such as uncles, grandpas, and the like. Does this suggest a geographic difference as well (e.g. are there less boylovers in Hispanic-America than in North America)? What other demographics play a part? And what role does a boy's religion play? Alas (sigh), we could go on forever! ~Splash* |
