hi keith we tried maybe a year or two ago, and for a while there was actually one set up on EFNet. it is not really that difficult to set one up, but the difficulty is mainly finding someone who will check in frequently enough to keep the channel from dbeing deleted, etc. and from what i can see, many of the folks here (or at least it used to be this way) dont spend huge amounts of time online. i myself would drop by a chat room once in a while, but i have random online time, usually few and far between. if ya have some specific questions on getting one going, feel free to drop me a line and i will answer what i can. and please heed carefully FOD's warnings on security. chat is great for realtime conversations, but it is a large doorway to copious amounts of information being revealed about yourself. check here for more about security issues and using IRC with a bit more security.... toodle oo grace and peace...
