Certainly in Britain there has been no significant movement of people into the church as a result of the liberalising messages of the hierarchy Or as the result of anything else. As I understand it, for the past several years total Sunday attendance at Catholic churches in England has exceeded the total Sunday attendance at Anglican churches. [Source = The Economist but don't ask me for a reference] What could turn this around? A more active involvement by the Head of the Church? A larger contribution to the C-of-E from tax revenues?
