"I suspect the answer lies in a radically greater commitment to real relationship among the body of Christ, to a pattern that does not settle for seeing each other on a Sunday, but rather regards it as an unusual day when someone else from the fellowship has not been in touch. Of course this means a smaller unit of fellowship than the local church - numbering its members probably less than 20. And yet this is the pattern at which we seem to have arrived on this board - it is an unusual day when I don't drop by."

Might I suggest you take a look at the way members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints relate to each other? Unlike conventional (dare I say it?) "Christian" theologies, Mormons believe that we are all the literal spirit children of Heavenly Father, and as such we are all each other's sibling on the spiritual level. Because of this belief, Mormons treat each other as family members, and organize near-daily activities wherein the brothers and sisters come togethor to enjoy each others company.

Before readers start thinking I'm out to convert you all, I should point out for the benefit of new-comers that I am an EX-Mormon disillusioned with the teachings of the LDS. However, for sheer you're-at-home-now-ness, I've never encountered a body of people more familial than they. Other churches have a lot to learn from the LDS.

Peace be with you
