I think we come to do "right" by reading the Bible. The words enlighten and inspire. It brings hope and comfort. It teaches lessons. I understand the confusion of one trying to confine another by using scripture. The world is indeed littered with the example you wrote about...Karisch, Jim Jones, ect.

We are all at different places in regards to our walk with God. I just try to live by the two greatest commandments..."Love the Lord with all your heart and soul" and the second, "Love your neighbor as yourself." It is an impossible task, for I am not God. I fail many times during the day...perhaps thousands of times. My heart does not always focus on God, and my heart has "hated" many people eventhough I may not use words to express this lack of love to others. The voice inside might say, "You're wrong." or "Oh, shut up you arrogant.."

I believe God understands our "faults." He does accept us and love us unconditionally. I think He also cares about us and wants us to walk with Him and become more like Him, realizing this is impossible. I think He shows us what He wants to change in us. It's different for every person.

It is neat to see the different points of view in regards to the issue of loving a boy. For me, it is a spiritual journey to build up a boy and not tear him down. I also believe it is God's desire for me to use the love in me towards a boy to help improve a boy's life and in turn improve my own life and who's to say, the interaction between me and a boy may also impact the world in a positive way. I care not to hate myself for the sexual feelings that sometimes arise. I care not to hide because I do believe I am to be with boys and learn to love them in a way that is indeed pleasing to God. God does love us. Best wishes during your journey.
