[God knows I would never purposely hurt Joe..]

Yet, don't you see, that's exactly what you did?

Try this scenario: I would never "intentionally" run over a pedestrian. Yet I will drink until I am intoxicated, get into my car, and drive down a residential street.

I don't buy that rationale. Do you?

The way you misuse Scripture is making it hard for me not to get angry. (Which would defeat the purpose, surely, of helping you understand the love of God.) If I slip, please forgive the tone and try to understand what I'm saying anyway.

1) Christ went into the wilderness to test himself. He didn't go to the whorehouse at the local casino; he went into the wilderness, ALONE, where there were few distractions.

2) Christ went into the wilderness for 40 days. He didn't expect to spend his entire life there.

3) And it was no picnic. After 40 days, Satan appeared. Who are you? Are you Christ? Do you think you're doing to do as well, in your confrontation with the devil, as He did? Do you expect Him to help you? But it was in this very confrontation that Christ said, Thou shall not tempt the Lord thy God.

You have stated that you are a sinner. You have stated that you intend to keep tempting yourself. This is hugely irresponsible. It's the same as saying that you intend to "slip" again. What about the children? Are they to be sacrificed in your narcissistic pursuit of salvation?
