Discernment vs. judgment

According to passages in the New Testament, we need to be discerning when it comes to doctrine and life choices. I think we can analyse truth claims and examine the results of a certain pattern of living without usurping God's prerogative to judge an individual. For example, from my perspective as a conservative Christian, I think that the religious claims of traditional Islam are false. However, I know several Muslims quite well, and I hold them in the highest regard for their personal integrity, piety, and grace. Does that help clarify? Dirk
