Huck,
I wish I could bring you to my church. It's beautiful. But ... the chances that you live within 40 minutes of it are slim. Hmm. tell u what. If you're near any of these campuses, let me know. I may be able to help. :) These groups are full of love, energy, excitement, and dedication to the Lord. They're very relaxed, fun, and inviting. But they don't back down from the fundamental beliefs of Christianity. It's a great opportunity for you, I'm sure.

I'm excited now... :) The thought of someone like you (like me) involved in a GCM church -- even mine! that'd be so cool!

Anyway, I'll be praying for you.

A word to those who have written responses before mine. I don't want to put words in Huck's mouth, but I did not see any indication in his message that he heard anything inappropriate, wrong, or not biblical from his religious teachers. The fact that you seem to be suggesting to him that his beliefs are wrong bothers me.

Have you read your bible? Lust, in *any* form, is harmful and should be avoided. Huck's story about "Not Today, Satan!" is awesome. I wish I could live my life like that, and the rest of us here as well... It's a great example of the faith that Huck has, that he can call upon God to deliver him from those temptations.

Don't get me wrong, folks. I'm not saying that homosexual activity is wrong. I have no clue on that one. But homosexual lust, just like heterosexual lust, should be avoided! 1 Tim 5:1-2 is my favorite verse on the subject, although by itself it doesn't do a great job of explaining my point (sorry). But notice (NIV): "with absolute purity." To me, absolute purity means (among other things) that there are no sexual desires in your dealings with anyone. If there are, you're not being pure. Think of purity as the young child who's not yet been exposed to the sin of the world -- a child whose universe contains no evil. That's purity. That's how we're supposed to be.
