One might understand this way... You are the church! It is not a building or formal organization. The great move today is establishing home groups, that those who take their faith seriously can get together from their own neighborhoods, and impact their community for Christ. If you cannot find a local group, or bible study, start your own. Once the government takes over the churches, much as they have done in places like Russia and China, what will you do then? Better to lay the groundwork now, before we are forced in essence to go underground. The word "church" in and of itself, does not really exist. The word in scripture, "ecclesia"...means the "called out assembly". The assembly often met in circular form, which is where the word church stems from, as in "circus" where you have circular forms of entertainment. Don't you think most "services" (a commercial term) are conducted for our entertainment? When was the last time you were asked to get up and give a message from the scripture? Christ expects us all to be involved and participatory in His "assembly". Which kingdom do you serve? There are only 2. That is why i am getting rid of my SSN, and I do not pay taxes. I have not filed in over 20 years. Either we are free in Christ or not. I take scripture seriously and word for word. But then, don't we all? Gideon |
