Perhaps I have been overwhelmed, because it does seem impossible to:

1) Love the Lord with all your heart and all your soul
and
2) Love your neighbor as yourself.

Our lives are just steps forwards and steps backwards without the possibility of reaching perfection here on earth. To me, it seems God will have to forgive us all or forgive none of us. I pray His promise of love and forgiveness win out over His insistence that we be perfect.

I am not afraid that God take the BL desires away, but just questioning whether, in the end, it truly matters. For one, if we believe we have overcome the desire, then we will be humbled and the desire will come back into our lives. And, if it was taken from us for our entire lives, it is true that there are many other issues that we will be inflicted with to show our need for God. Our trials of cancer, sexual desires, drug addictions, judging others, and on and on, are blessings in that they make us lean on God. Why do our sexual desires for boys need to be taken away? If not this "sin," then another will certainly rise up to remind us of our need for God....if I reach perfection, then am I not God? What need would there be for God if I am perfect? Thus, what do you mean by overcoming the world? Can we truly do this?
