Some people would like very much to accept the Bible as historical fact. But it is not. How can it be? - We're talking about stories told and retold, mistranslated, unable to be translated correctly, and the stories have been altered by people in power, i.e.; the King James' Bible...etc. I do my best to follow the ten commandments... I'm prepared to listen to scripture, but I take it all with a grain of salt, or rather a dose of common sense. If some wish to believe in a God that accepts bigotry, slavery, murder & all other forms of evil, then that is your choice. I can not, I will not. And if I am sent to hell for believing in a loving heavenly father, rather than an Emperor Deity or evil ogre then so be it... I can see the appeal of turning one's back on God if one were to view him as you seem to... You will likely never see things from my view point, but I hope that you enjoy your life however you choose to live it. |
