Hi Sprite, I'm sorry about the soft drink joke. I guess sometimes I can't help myself. I must agree with you about your fear statement. Your right, doing something, no matter how good it is, out of fear, does not make you a good person. It's too bad that so much of the Christian Church's history is about frightening (or actually trying to frighten) folks into belief in God. I am certain that God never intended this at all. How do you frighten someone into loving you? I myself am not a very religeous person either. Not the kind of religious that most people associate with Christianity, that is. I do not go to any church for very long (it usually only takes one or two anti-gay comments or sermons and I'm out of there.). I do not usually preach the Bible to people I know, thus making a nusance out of myself (unless, of course, they ask me about it....or I am posting here at CBLF.). I am, however, a Christian. It says in James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in thier distress and to keep one-self from being polluted by the world." A far cry from most of the organized mess called the "Church" nowadays, huh? I don't think God is looking for "stuck-up" religious folks...I think He is looking for folks who REALLY want His love. God Bless, Sprite. Love in Christ Jesus, Chris |
