Thanks for sharing that. I guess I can share a little myself. I have a very similar situation happening to me. Except I've not known my friend as long as you have. But I am going to go to his house and stay with him and his family for a two days or so. He's becoming a very handsome boy. He's 13. I met him at camp and we bonded instantly. We became great friends and shared our life time dreams and stuff together. It's interesting how you sometimes become attracted to a boy when originally you never had any sexual ideas about him. I never was attracted to Adam at camp. And I went over to his house for a sleepover. Things were different at his house. I didn't have the "I need to talk about God all the time" mind set. We would talk and tease about sexual things. As 13 year-olds do... and 18 year olds should I emphasize. And the more we would talk about it, the more fun I would have with it... And well, Adam is one of the few kids I've actually found myself attracted toward. And it's weird because most of the kids I get to know that well, the sexual attraction wanes. But with him, it gets stronger. But I've found out how it makes it a lot easier to resist temptation. Forgiven keeps reminding me of this. But when you talk to a kid about God, your mind won't be on sex. That is if you are witnessing to him earnestly! Just as Jesus said, "You can't serve two masters!" It's true! If you are serving God, you can't be serving Satan at the same time... and if you are serving your flesh, you are serving Satan... I'm guilty of it too... way too guilty. But I do know this, I love Adam probalby as much as you love Nick. Question is, do we love God more than we love our boys? Perhaps we both need to put God in the middle of our relationships. My experience with doing so is more than just rewarding and fulfilling... It's building up the kingdom of Christ! God Bless you! Huck Have fun at Nick's! |
