As this is a part of a thread that is pushing the right edge of the board, and is an interesting point, I want to bring it to the top. Our token atheist Jim has taken offence at the prospect of being prayed for. And regards this as a justification for telling us not to do so. This is of course at the core of the conservative (as distinct to Christian) argument against gay sex - that it is happening at all is offensive, so I have the right to demand that it stops; and of course in a democracy, if the people want it, it becomes the law.... |
