Tell that to all the dead children killed by their parents after social workers "approved" their living conditions. You might get something out of "Free to Choose" by Nobel Laureate Milton Freeman. He explains very carefully how giving CHOICES is the means by which you give freedom, protection, etc. People do make wrong choices, but the best way to give the most people the most freedom and protection is by giving them the ability to choose their life circumstances. |
