The seriousness of consent, or of sex?

"Seems to me the issue is not so much the seriousness of sex as it is the seriousness of consent. "

I think not, because if it was only a matter of the seriousness of *consent*, all other Adult-Minor activities would be as hotly disputed as regards the consensual aspect.

(Did the 6 year old REALLY consent to being taken to the movies, school, on the family holiday, etc? And if not, should criminal charges be brought, and what is the appropriate sentence for a parent who tells a child to go to bed earlier than he wants to, 10 years, maybe? And so on, and so forth.)

Come on, FOD.

Consent doesn't appear to matter so much in most other areas, apart from maybe kidnapping.
