I used to lurk here a lot but left for no real reason....maybe it just got a bit slow. Anyway....I'm back as a regular lurker and a once in a while poster. I consider myself a Christian boylover but I'm celibate (with guys and girls) and find my attraction to boys a fatherly thing and not a sexual one. My greatest joy in life is doing youth ministry stuff in my spare time and treasure the relationships I've made with boys over the past few years. My advice to those who struggle with guilt over boylove is to remember we are not of this world.....some of us were made different for a very special purpose that the world doesn't understand. That is to show hurting boys unconditional love and to be Godly father figures to the fatherless. Work hard to put aside sexual desire in order be a healthy friend to a kid in need. In my case....the love I recieve back from the boys I know, and the satisfaction from helping them to see God, is much more powerful than any desire of a sexual nature. So....that's my unsolicited 2 cents worth for the day. On another note.... I was saddened to drive by two boys yesterday standing alone at a bus stop along a busy road. It was 28F out, geting dark, and they were only wearing t-shirts and jeans....not even a light jacket. I think they were around 12 and 14. I don't usually pick up strangers but I was worried they were going to freeze if the bus didn't come along soon. I drove past them and then came back after thinking about it for a bit. The older one pretty much gave me a dirty look and said no when I asked them if they would like a ride somewhere....like I was out to hurt them. Don't really blame him for the distrustful attitude many adults, and the big city, promote. Prayers that these two boys are okay and being taken care of. Keep your eyes open for those in need this Christmas season and don't be afraid to at least try to help when you see a kid that needs it. Don |
