In reply to can you make a man out of me? repost submitted by Splash! on December 28 2000 02:54:14

I'm sorry, but I did not see the post as serious at all. I saw it as a stereotypical poke at boylovers. Most things about the post focused on a sexual relationship between a boy and a man: "he bathed me and I enjoyed that a lot" "he undress me for bed" "he help me with my sexual identy" "he fullfilled my sexual needs" "he took pics of me an me naked...i hope he shared them..." (Notice also the "baby talk" tone of the message).

It all sounds fake to me. I just don't think a boy would mention only the "sexual" things a man has done with him if the boy liked the man at all. What about the times the man did other things for the boy? Instead, this boy supposedly puts things like "being bathed" and "undressing" and posing for nude pictures at the top of his list of reasons for liking this man. He even adds, "I hope he shared [the nude pictures] with others." Why would a boy want nude pictures of himself shared with other people? It just doesn't make sense to me.

I feel the post was one person's sick way of trying to define who we are as boylovers. Do we want to be known as men who fulfill the "sexual needs" of boys, and bath them and undress them and take nude pictures of them?! Not I!

I felt the post was mean-spirited and that the poster should instead ask questions about who we are instead of trying to create a counterfeit definition of who we are and using it against us as a mirror to a vampire, thinking they have found us out. For me, he is way off target and I don't appreciate the stereotype.
