So my Greek myth classes weren't a waste after all

Vulcan = Hephaistos, and his wife was Aphrodite (=Venus), at least according to the Odyssey (somebody else was paying attention in their Greek myth classes). Mars was Ares, which you can easily recall by remembering that the Areopagus, where the Athenian tribunal met (to make war plans, among others) is Greek for "Hill of Ares."
