Welcome! I believe that sites like this can be just as socially supportive in some ways as a church, and even moreso, at least to the extent that you can talk openly about boylove here.

As for the abstinence question, I have stated my position before. I think that abstinence should be practiced, except in the case of a loving, monogamous relationship between two people who TRULY ARE in love. As a practical matter, I think it would be a rarer for a boy to be capable of such a relationship than an adult (though not impossible), so in most cases, abstinence is the best choice for us. I think it's mostly a matter of keeping the focus on the fullness of what it means to love someone, and not merely sexual desire. If you truly love someone, you won't want to have sex with them if it would be potentially hurtful to them. (My reasons for feeling this way have to do with the issues of consent and respect and being aware of what the boy wants, not because I think that boys are NEVER capable of having romantic relationships. A few of them might be. I think you have to take it on a case-by-case basis. I would also advocate obeying the law in any case, which pretty much makes abstinence mandatory anyway.)

All that being said, let me also reiterate that I thorougly enjoy sexual fantasies (as long as one is not fantasizing about doing anything hurtful), and I have no moral qualms with that. I suspect that many BLers find fantasy to be a perfectly acceptable and useful outlet for their sexual feelings. At least I know I do.
