As far as I understand what the Bible says about Mary, I don't see that it says anywhere that Mary is without original sin. Blessed she is, but not without sin. Jesus' sinlessness is his own, it doesn't come from her.

As for eating the fruit, I wonder about that too, and I don't know what The Answer is. Maybe God was planning later to introduce Man to understand about good and evil, when he has better prepared, more mature or something. Maybe the commandment was supposed to be completely arbitrary with no sense or meaning behind it whatsoever, except that the sense of good and evil lay in the commandment itself, not in what it was saying. That is, a test of how far Man trusted God, even when he didn't understand. I dunno.

As for Mary's children, this time I can speak in defense of my Catholic brothers :) The Bible talks about Jesus' "brothers", but in some (non-English) cultures, "brother" can be used to mean "cousin". Someone will introduce you saying "come meet my brother", but he really means his cousin. I've never been able to find anyone to confirm if this is true of Hebrew/Semitic culture, though. However, notice how Jesus makes special efforts on the cross to make his disciple John look after his mother after he was gone. Why would he want to do that if she already had other children?

Questions are good :) I'm pretty sure they are, anyway. Maybe I'm wrong.
