Huck, I don't have much to say except that I really enjoyed your post. It brought back some good memories. As a boy, I treasured those moments, as few as they were, when someone older than me would go out of their way to show their concern for me and want to talk with me. It meant a lot to me! And those memories are part of the reason why I try to reach out to boys today and show them someone cares. I know that those times helped build self-confidence and hope in me that I could accomplish something good with my life. Even when many of my peers looked down on me because I just wasn't cool enough, I knew that someone out there thought I was special, and I was going to prove it to them and to myself! ...yeah, those times had a big affect on me. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it right now. Keep up the GOD work!! ;) By the way, I wasn't going to respond originally. I had read the post yesterday, but I changed my mind today and thought that you should know that some people do read these posts (without responding) and are encouraged by them. Thank you. ~Splash* |
