A boy I'm mentoring figured out how to solve a problem this afternoon and his face lit up....and this is a boy whose face rarely lights up. Yesterday, there was a rather spectacular sunset. I pulled off the road to watch. Last week I was seated with some 7th graders at a sporting event. They were having fun with each other and with a six-year-old. I thought how lucky I was to be in the midst of this. Savoring moments is something I learned to do when I was in my early twenties. It's been a blessing ever since. ---Ford |
