I have been away from the computer for a while, so I missed the mess below. In response to you question about this being a support forum, yes. But as a support forum, there must be some debate. I only skimmed the battleground below, do some of the comments seemed to be mirrors of a debate we had months ago about masterbation and sexual thoughts (tho, I could be wrong about that, as I said I only skimmed) The debate part came when someone asked if these activities were sinful. I had similar questions about looking at *lawful* boy pictures (like boylinks) We needed that debate because there are so many different views on sin at this board, and the debate helps clarify things. It allows new perspectives on an issue for a person so maybe they can say "you know, he's right maybe I should look at that topic in this way..." or whatever. Support also means finding our own way, and debate is how we navigate those shallows. What I saw below, went beyond debate into nastyness and incivility. At somepoint you were taught manners, USE THEM. People forget that they still need to be poilite and respectful of other people, even if you are just posting a message, it will be read by another person. I'm no saint in this matter, when the topic of consentual sex came up, I got REALLY hot and I said somethings that may have been cause for some people to get their ire up. But I was never rude (a tad vulger I may admit) I refuse to give up on standards of behavior that I have been taught since I was a baby. If you are confused, unsure or need input, then that is the place for debate, but if you can't carry on with civility, then maybe you need to find a different outlet for you problems. This is a wonderful place. This is a place where we come to for support. The scripture at the top of the page is very realivant, We are gathered together in his name, and on this board Chirst Our savior is with us. In that respect, please treat this site as you would a religious gathering place, because right now, this is the closest thing I have to a church. In Peace asb |
