Jellyfish don't have brains, therefore in order to survive their nervous system must control their body using only stimulous response. Evolution has designed their bodies to do many things automatically, the feature of biolumineciance attracting deeper prey, comb shaped bodies to sweep the ocean floor...

But there can be no thought process. How have the Jellyfish survived? Purity of form is the reason. However, even if they don't have a brain, I wouldn't touch a Wasp Jellyfish or a Portugese Man O' War with a 10 foot pole. Well, with a 15 foot pole I would...
