We met a couple of years ago and you were having a difficult time then. However, I was able to see that you've got lots of people who really care about you.

Being in a state of continually concentrating on your woes and how to relieve them usually results in even more woes and bad feelings. Each of us who is alive has things to be thankful for. Simple things....like being able to breathe, to touch, to experience beauty. We all have special gifts.....gifts that were meant to be used.

We are all loved. I believe only God is capable of loving us as fully as we need, but that we can receive imperfect reflections of his perfect love from other people too. The thing to remember is that all of us are broken in one way or another.....each of us will eventually hurt those we love in some way. The fact that people who love you have also hurt you is a fact of being human. You will hurt people you love too. But this doesn't diminish the love that is being given and received.

Start each day by being thankful. Look beyond the injuries and the hurt....look to what you have. Think about it. Be thankful for it. Then you'll be more ready to share what you have with others. It's in the sharing that fullfillment and a sense of value begins to make itself known. Be thankful and willing to share even when you don't feel like doing it. Choose to do it.

Let people love you.....let yourself love them. Don't expect them to show their love in a way you specify though.....like you, they can only give what they're capable of giving. Don't expect that your gifts will always be received.....sometimes we're incapable of that too.

Discover your own gifts, give thanks for them, share them....be yourself, and let others be themselves too.
