"In short, it depends on what God had given you to experience. When people have similar experiences around a particular issue, then they usually agree on that issue. However, when people have different experiences (and God gave us these!), then the peolple involved usually want to defend their position. In all honesty, there is nothing to defend. In fact, by listening to others who are "different", we do our greatest learning and growing." Indeed, how could we ever learn anything if we only heard what we already think is true? I think we really need (I know I need this) to respect each other, not just tolerate each other. Then we're open to listen and learn. ---Ford |
