Giving God the middle finger is the problem!

Eve eating from the tree is not the problem. The problem is giving the middle finger to God by ignoring His command. The sin, as all sin is, is not Loving God with all our heart and soul.

Indeed the Old Testemant is filled with people who did as God said. Noah, for example, was told to build an ark, and Noah did what he was told. God's love is shown to those who acted with love towards God by fufilling the purpose of what God brought each person here to accomplish.

The old testament is also filled with examples of people turning their back and giving the middle finger to God. God's anger is unleashed at people who clearly did not follow the destiny of who they were suppose to be. When Cain killed Abel, for example, God sent Cain away to be a wanderer. God was pissed. Cain's sin was lying to God, "Am I my brohter's keeper?" when indeed he knew his brother was dead. Cain fell into despair, "How can I go on?" Even though God punished Cain by making him wander around the earth, grace was found. God often does forgive us for giving him the middle finger. Despite what Cain did, God placed a mark on Cain, so no one would take his life, and He allowed Cain to find a home and have children.

Indeed, at times, everyone chooses not to follow God; that is, we fail to seek out God's desires for our lives. When push comes to shove, we often give God the middle finger and do what Eve did. We don't "listen" to what God has planned for us. There's a reason we are all here. God has, and continues, to prepare us for different tasks. Some fathers beat their kids and are failing at the task of being a 'good' parent. How can God be pleased with someone who abuses the very gift He has given us? What gifts are we either abusing or not using? We, in this group, have been given this desire to help boys, to build them up and not tear them down. Yet how many of us place our middle finger in the air and abuse the gift, or out of fear, we do not use our gift to make a postive impact in a boy's life?

Of course, this loving boys is just one gift that we each share in this group. There are many other gifts we have ben given. Each of us should ask God to open our minds and hearts to discover what these are, and then we must be prepared for the battle. We know the battle that exists because of our loving boys. In life, there are many other battles to take place. In each instance, we either do like Eve and do not "listen," or we do like Noah and build a future. "For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord; they are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 Let us realize that the Eve taking fruit from the tree is nothing. The problem is the total disobedience of what God set out for us. He has prepared us for greatness, but we often choose to turn our backs, to close the doors on what God so wants for us.

Shine on despite the darkness,
