If you'll re-read my response to you, you'll see that I am in agreement with you when you say we have a choice in our actions. I don't want to play word games with you, but my understanding is that a pedophile is one that has a sexual desire for minors, whether or not those desires are acted upon. Just as a homosexual is someone with sexual desires for the same sex, whether or not he/she engages in it. The Bible condemns the homosexual act, not the desire.

As far as to whether people are born gay or born a pedophile, we can argue that till the end of time and still never really know for sure unless we ask God when we get to heaven. Maybe people are born that way or maybe it developes over time under certain circumstances. I don't see how that really matters anyway. Dealing with *what is* is more important than finding out all the *whys*.

But please don't presume to know what God wants for me. Don't say you KNOW God wants to change me. You have no way of knowing whether God wants me to remain a pedophile since being a pedophile is not a sin. Remember it is the action that is a sin, not the desire. I agree that God did not make me a pedophile, but for whatever reason, that is what I am. If God chooses not to change that part of me, I will accept it and live with it.

And I'm a little perturbed at your assertion that all I need is determination, faith, and willpower to change this. This sounds more like a televangelist on TV than the Bible. I get upset when I hear stuff like this, not for myself, but for the people that are new in Christ. It makes them think that if things don't change, then there is something wrong with their faith or that they must be unworthy. The *preachers for profit* on TV love to quote the scripture about how having faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. Well, personally, I haven't seen too many mountains moved in my lifetime. And the fact remains that God is God, not Santa Clause. Sometimes his answer to prayer is no. In 2nd Corinthians, Paul said how he asked the Loed 3 times to take away a *thorn in his side*. But God said no, His grace was sufficient. So are you saying Paul didn't have enough faith? Look around, Jordan. The world is very imperfect and there are a lot of imperfect people. Maybe if we hadn't got kicked out of the Garden of Eden, things would be different. But the hard truth is that God does not take away every affliction. He has promised to help us thru our troubles, not take them all away. So if God takes away your desire for same gender sex, praise God. If He doesn't take away the desire, but helps you refrain, praise God. His purpose is His own and he doesn't need to explain himself to you or me.
