Being a child of God

Jordan, you can (and do) quote scripture freely to "prove" your points.....but what you say here flies in the face of common sense.

I'm my father's son.....I have been since I was conceived.....I will be 'till the day I die. There's nothing either my dad or I can do to change that. Many times you see the parents of people accused of horrible crimes showing up at the trials and saying, "Regardless of what other people think of him or what he may have done, he's still my son."

How much more so with God, the perfect Father. If we humans can recognize that our children are our children no matter what they do, how could we possibly think God could do less? Indeed, what kind of father would he be to impose conditions on his fatherhood? The father in the story of the prodigal son sure didn't.......and that story was told by Jesus to show the kind of Father God is and invite us to become more like Him.
