The greatest feeling I've gotten in my relationship with a boy is when I'm able to "touch" him for life, if not for eternity. To look deep down into his eyes, and reach down deep into his soul, and put something there that will last forever... something he will return to again and again for years and years... a saving personal relationship with Jesus. I've never prayed so much with one person as I have with a boy. To bless a boy... spend time together in prayer... teach him how to pray... help him memorize scripture... disciple him... answer his spiritual questions... lead him into a more intimate relationship with the Lord... teach him how to deal with situations as a Christian should... to talk with him about his day in light of being a Christian... to pray with him at the beginning and ending of each day... to show him how to love and care for others as a Christian should... to give him hope... and to know that whatever happens, we'll see each other again. These are the things I love. A spiritual relationship with a boy. How could I risk losing it all over giving into temptations of the flesh? God help me... Never! Yes, Huck, one of my greatest joys is witnessing to boys. My love for them is so great that I want to see them gain a relationship with Jesus and all He has to offer! And unlike a hobby or a fad, spirituality is something we all have in common with each other in some degree or another -- something we can all talk about and know something about. The boys I've made friends with throughout the years still bring their spiritual questions to me. What can be greater than to be a boy's spiritual mentor? It is eternal!!
