Dear Jordan, Reading your post about your experiences as a teenager brought together (for me) what you've been saying here. In light of what you've lived through I can well understand how you came to be where you now find yourself: safe and yet still perhaps a bit puzzled about how and why all this happened. From what you write, I'd tend to agree that you were probably not intended to be a homosexual person. Reading between the lines a bit, I think it may be that the man you tell us about was a person who did, at the time, provide you with some of the comfort, understanding, love and intimacy that you needed. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, this man went beyond the bounds you would have set and hurt you deeply in the process. The other inference I make is that you used the relationship you had with this man (however disfuncitonal it may have been) as a model for future relationships and found them utterly disappointing. I'm truly thankful (as you clearly are) that you found your way out of this and into a more satisfying life.....one that more nearly fits who you really are. ---Ford |
