Their stance is apparently to have children awarded full adult rights. Not just about sex, but about voting, driving, entering the army, everything. Commendable in a way, insofar as it awards a youth full respect, but dodges around the question of how to deal with other children who are yet dependent, not ready to live independent adult lives. Concerning "chickenhawk", the word "hawk" implies the idea of predator, deliberately seeking out unsuspecting prey to devour. I hope you don't really have to ask if we consider ourselves predators. Man, that sucks about you been taking advantage of when you were 15, and being drawn into a world of sleeping around and despair. That's great you're finally coming to know healing from what happened! With the 15yo I'm closest to, we've had some talks about how I like him, and he's said how he likes girls and doesn't want to be gay. Sometimes I would hug him, but he'd break out of the hug. When he was 12 he was cuddly as anything. Now, a few years on, he's just as cuddly, except he doesn't accept cuddles. So, even though it hurts that he doesn't like me the same way I like him, I respect him all the same, and will give him all the support I can as he grows and eventually finds a girl to marry. It's not his sex is all I'm interested in, it's his friendship, his love. And he's a good friend. Fod |
