I had a cousin once who believed everything his father said, no matter what. He didn't even know why he believed it, he just did. If someone asked for facts to back up his belief, he'd use the same exact facts that his father used. If someone asked him why he believed something, he'd just say, "Because," or "It's obvious," or "That's what my father says," etc.

How much of an effect do you think my cousin had on the beliefs of others? None.

Now, my cousin had a brother who was much more vocal about his beliefs and why he believed things. He went out and experienced things and based a lot of his beliefs on things he experienced for himself and the people he had talked to who had their own experiences. If someone asked him why he believed something, he'd be more open about his feelings and share his experiences, and things he saw and did.

How much of an effect do you think he had on the beliefs of others? A lot more -- he caused people to examine their own beliefs and experiences, and made them question themselves. Also, his willingness to be open to others' beliefs allowed them to be more open with him. Both sides grew from the exchange.

So, I say all that to say this... Talk to us! If you are coming in here thinking that you're going to accomplish some kind of work that you believe God has called you to do by throwing facts and one-liners at us, it's just not going to happen. I went back and read all your posts before I wrote this one. You have had VERY little to say at all. Facts and scripture alone are not going to help us see your viewpoint. You have to "show" us what you see in these things, and we'll tell you why we do or don't agree, and then you can try to make it more clear to us or refine your view, and then we'll discuss it some more. This way at least one of us (if not both of us) will benefit from sharing our views. This is generally what forums are about, I think.

Peace to you. I just wish you, yourself (your words, I mean), would participate more. Words are nothing without meaning. Show us their meaning.
