I agree with you that societal pressures are often not correct. For example, the German society in the mid 30s and into the 40s came to believe in a paradigm that crushed the spirits of millions of people. We could talk about cults and other "nations" who crushed the spirits of others. Of course, this is not what you are intersted in talking about. Indeed, society is crushing the spirits of people like us.

You may be correct that our society may be crushing the spirits of those who desire sex when there is no harm from sex. As I mentioned, however, I live in America, which is based on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and these have influenced my view of sex. I will try to be objective, throwing my christian indoctrination aside, in analyzing what you have said, yet I do believe I really need to analyze the questions I posed to you. They were something like:

In what situations is sex harmful?
In what situations is sex beautiful?
Can child and adult participate in the beautiful aspects of sex?

These are questions I would like to have people comment on....perhaps I'll post them in a new post.

First God doesn't prohibit sex between men and boys. We have choices, and it happens. For example, I know Nick Steven (from the issue of Parkelesis), and his friend at 14 years old, had something happen one time. Sex could have continued; however, Nick put a stop to it. The sexual interaction was not harmful to the boy, but it bothered Nick. Indeed, he felt pursuing this type of relationship would be detrimental and unpleasing in the eyes of God. Nick may have been wrong, but he does hold true to the Judeo-Christian paradigm of the American society.

Fortunately, over the years, I have discovered, that God is bigger than any religion. God's loves can reach across one's religion to a person in need. I am still personally confused as to whether or not God is against a sexual relationship between a man and boy. However, throwing God and society aside, I do believe it is possible for no harm to occur in such a relationship, and perhaps a relationship can be enhanced by loving a boy in a sexual way.

How can anyone totally throw God and/or society aside?

To be honest, I still am not able to say God would be pleased. In throwing away the Bible, God might find this act of love between a man and boy to be pleasing in his eyes. Again, my Lutheran (protestant group closest to the Catholic religion) upbringing is entrenched in me. I am unclear whethter I could ever break that paradigm. One's faith is deeply engraved in one's heart, and when one sees the world through the eyes of their "religous" or spiritual upbringing, one's faith is enhanced by the miracles one experiences...things that have happened in my life that I have come to believe are the work of God. How can I ever throw that away?

Well, I have attempted to the best of my ability to answer your question. Without God and society's pressure, I can clearly state that I can believe in situations in which a man and boy would not be harmed by engaging in a loving sexual relationship. Having said that, I do not pretend to understand God. Perhaps He doesn't give a crap about sex. Before the ten commandments, there was a whole lot of sex going on. For example, Cain Able and Seth, and other brothers must have had sex with their sisters. Perhaps Adam even had sex with his daughters. If one believes the Bible and this story, it is the only way they could have made more people. God may not have had a hang up about sex when He originallty made us. Perhaps even men and boys were involved in loving sexual relationship. As I write this I am thinking of boys around the age 14 and not 7!

Anyway, we probably spend way too much time worrying about sex instead of shining on and uplifting the spirits of other people. I believe God does cross our paths with others, so that we love. By struggling and getting lost in confusion and worry, we become no good for anyone. In the end, I believe we all should just live and love others in the way Jesus showed us. Unfortunately, there is no documentation that Jesus had sex, and thus, I've come to believe that love must override everything including sex. Therefore, I have come to believe God wants us to love above all else.

P. S. I honestly don't try to invest my energies on the issue you mention, but I thank you for having continued pursuading me into thinking. I hope you better understand and accept my views on this issue.
