Why does the religious right have so much power and influence in the U.S?

The enemy plays both sides to the middle.

Your basic Hegelian dialectic.

Just like the bankers have no country, but will fund both sides and
make the money in the middle. While others suffer they are off counting
their cash, and gaining more power to continually try and control our lives.

Same story throughout history.
