Your story has a lot for us to think about. One thing I'd really take issue with is the idea that God's wasting his time on someone like you (or me, or anyone else). Each of us is valuable in God's eyes....so much so that he came here to live as one of us......and suffer as one of us. Jesus too knew betrayal by those close to him and what it's like to be the target of overzealous (to put it mildly) prosecutors and of accusations of an angry group claiming to be saving others. God loves you as a son, as he does all of us.....and that makes us brothers. As to how much harm (if any) you've actually done to any of the kids you've been in contact with, I certainly get the idea it's been greatly exaggerated. I think the love and care you've shown them had a far greater impact. Thanks brother, for your story. ---Ford |
