I agree, the proof of being saved is persevering to the end.

As for the 1 Cor verse, I would think about it this way, that the unrighteous who will not inherit the kingdom of God are those who have given up on God, who have finally rejected him, who have not persevered to the end.

So, for a Christian who is seeking to love God with all his heart, he may sin, out of desparation or out of ignorance, but his heart is still bent on knowing Christ and by his faith in Christ he is saved, even from the sin he may have commited when already a Christian.

But if he reaches a point where he could care less about Jesus, then of what faith can he claim? God means nothing to him, and he won't have any part in the kingdom of Heaven. He wouldn't want to have any part in it. I think the list of sins Paul enumerates alongside the condition of not inheriting the kingdom of God are the consequences, the symptoms, of this state of heart, not the cause.
