Hi Altima -- London is a delight for a Yank visitor such as me. The 'tube' puts the whole city within walking distance. (The same is true of the trams in Amsterdam.) I was charmed by Cambridge during my single visit there, because my host was a student who knew the place well and he devoted an entire day to showing me around. I've never visited Ireland, so all I know is what I read. Viewed from the outside, it's a place with a thriving economy, low unemployment and a rich cultural tradition. I wonder if in your case familiarity has bred contempt. :) I should add that I'm MUCH older than you; most of my traveling has been since I retired. Still, I'm inclined to agree that "London r00lz". -- Bonzo |
